Tipsy Social Joins Real Men Wear Pink 2022

Hi, I’m Andrew. I’m wearing pink in October to raise awareness and support for the American Cancer Society’s breast cancer research initiatives. I am raising funds and support for the ACS through my Real Men Wear Pink campaign.

I am also the founder and CEO of Tipsy Social. Harnessing the resources and talents of our own Marketing Mixologists™, I’m doing so in fun, creative ways throughout the months of September and October.

I’m asking those within my network – colleagues, clients, coworkers, and connections – to support my campaign this year in honor of Debbe Sauerhoff whose battle with stage 4 breast cancer ended sadly on July 8, 2022.

    Why I'm Wearing Pink

In 2020, I was honored to be selected as a Real Men Wear Pink candidate for the first time. That same October, my husband’s aunt, Aunt Debbe as she frequently asked that I call her, received her breast cancer diagnosis and began to fight against the disease.

In September 2021, as I began to gear up for another Real Men Wear Pink campaign, Aunt Debbe received the devastating news that her cancer had metastasized, and she was now facing stage 4 breast cancer. She persisted and was determined to live her life to the fullest.

Sadly, on July 8, 2022, Aunt Debbe’s nearly two-year battle with breast cancer came to an end surrounded by her family. It is in her memory that I choose to wear pink and raise awareness about the impact this disease has on the lives of so many.

Breast cancer doesn’t discriminate and there is virtually no one who hasn’t been affected by it in some way regardless of whether you’re a man or a woman. That’s why I’m stepping up to fight breast cancer with all I have. Since I’m able to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so. By raising money and awareness through Real Men Wear Pink, I’m helping to save more lives from breast cancer.

I hope you’ll join me by supporting my campaign through donations or attending an event. It doesn’t take an army to make a difference. It just takes everyday people to make impactful decisions. A wave begins as a small ripple.

Why I Choose the American Cancer Society

Each day, the American Cancer Society saves more lives from breast cancer than ever before. They are helping people take steps to reduce their risk of breast cancer or find it early when it’s easier to treat. They provide free information and services when and where people need them. They fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and they’re working to ensure access to mammograms for women who need them.

As the nation’s largest private, not-for-profit source of funds for scientists studying cancer, the American Cancer Society remains committed to funding basic, translational, clinical, and cancer control research now and in the future – as much as they are able given their available financial resources.

How You Can Support My Real Men Wear Pink Campaign

Your support means the world to me, my team, and the thousands of people battling breast cancer right now! There are a bunch of different ways you can support the American Cancer Society, but here are just a few ways I’m planning to:

    • Make a monetary donation to my personal fundraising page.
    • Donate a gift card, service voucher, or raffle basket for us to use in fundraising efforts at one of our upcoming events.
    • Offer employees a company match on their donations to my campaign fundraising page.
    • Share my campaign with your network of influence and explain why you chose to support.
    • Purchase tickets to one of my Real Men Wear Pink events.
    • Buy one of our “Choose Joy” shirts or hoodies to honor Debbe Sauerhoff’s life.
    • Order a Succulent Diffuser Gift Box from our friends at Come To Your Scentses.

However you choose to support us, please know that you have our deepest gratitude for helping us in our efforts to spread awareness and raise funds for a worthy cause.
