September 9, 2020 (Fishkill, New York) – Andrew Mendez-Spera of Tipsy Social is taking part in the American Cancer Society’s “Real Men Wear Pink” campaign to raise awareness and funds in an effort to reduce the pain and suffering caused by breast cancer. With over 19 “Real Men” candidates across the Hudson Valley, Mendez-Spera is committed to helping the Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research, provide free, comprehensive information and support, and help people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it’s most treatable.

Breast cancer doesn’t just affect women. Thousands of men will be diagnosed with the disease in the US in 2020. And so are more than 276,000 of their daughters, wives, mothers, sisters, and friends. “Men can make a huge difference in the fight against breast cancer and the American Cancer Society is honored to have Andrew on board as a member of the 2020 class of Real Men Wear Pink candidates,” said Kristi Greco.  “He is truly committed to influence others while raising money and awareness supporting innovative breast cancer research, patient services and providing information on how to reduce breast cancer risk.”

Andrew chose to get involved with the Real Men Wear Pink campaign because he knows that almost everyone has been affected by breast cancer in some way. Whether it be a family member, friend, or colleague, we have seen the impact of breast cancer on the lives of those we care about. Andrew has set a goal of raising $5000 and is working with his network and local businesses to reach that goal. “No one should have to face a breast cancer diagnosis alone,” said Mendez-Spera. “That’s why I joined the American Cancer Society in support of their lifesaving work by becoming a candidate in the Real Men Wear Pink campaign. This is a cause I personally believe in, and as a candidate, I’m committed to raising awareness and funds for the Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer efforts.”

    About Real Men Wear Pink

The American Cancer Society created the Real Men Wear Pink campaign to engage and empower male community leaders in the fight to end breast cancer. Recruitment efforts are underway now.  Men of all ages are welcome to join the campaign and are asked to use their influence in the workplace, the community and on social media to raise awareness of early detection and screening.   “While clothes don’t make the man, when our Real Men Wear Pink candidates commit to wearing something pink each day in October, they provide a reminder to others and illustrate unity in the breast cancer fight,” Said Greco.   To learn more, donate or to sign up for the 2020 class of Real Men Wear Pink candidates, please contact Kristi Greco:  845-781-6131/Kristi.greco@cancer.org or visit www.realmenwearpinkacs.org/HudsonValleyNY
