Are you tired of scrolling down your feed and seeing meme, meme, engagement photo, meme? Before I jump into the list, I’ll warn you that there is a HEAVY Poughkeepsie bias, but I’m a Po-Town local so I’m not apologizing.

1) Darkside Records, Poughkeepsie
By far my favorite local business to follow, Darkside is both hilarious and informative. They let their employees show their personalities which brings humor to their posts, but they’re very serious when it comes to staying on top of posting new inventory. They also often go live to showcase new items, announce deals, and interact with customers. I highly suggest following Darkside if you’re a music fan, they post rare collectibles that will excite music fans of any genre, and their Instagram is a true look inside everyday life at this Poughkeepsie record store.

2) Lolita’s Pizza, Poughkeepsie
With no competition, Lolita’s is my favorite Poughkeepsie restaurant to follow. In my opinion, it is the perfect mix of appetizing food pics, picture-perfect cocktails, and the perfect human touch when infused with the personalities of employees. When looking at their photos you can see daily specials, must try mixed drinks, and everyday hilarity that makes you feel like you’re sitting at the bar when you’re at home in your sweats.

3) Hudson Taco, Newburgh
Let’s taco ’bout the Newburgh restaurant Hudson Taco! It may be included to break up the Poughkeepsie bias, but that doesn’t take anything away from their Instagram, because it’s fantastic. This is the go-to account for when you’re at work and want to daydream about eating tacos and drinking tequila. You can also expect to see bright photos of your favorite Mexican dishes, like chips and guac, empanadas, and churros.

4) Zeus Brewing Company, Poughkeepsie
The Queen City’s newest brewery definitely deserves a spot on this list. Zeus opened in January, and I have yet to make it over there yet, but the Instagram feed is so good that it’s holding me over for now. Now that the account is out of their “black and white” phase (check out their feed if you want to see what I mean), you can see all the delicious food and beers they are now serving. Plus, with the rooftop brewery, I’d bet they have some cool ideas for once the weather gets better. Check them out now so you can tell all your friends you followed them before they blew up.

5) Hudson & Packard, Poughkeepsie
This authentic Detroit-style pizza pop up may only be open on Monday’s but they fill your feed with mouth-watering pizza pics every day. When I see pictures of the pizzas at Hudson & Packard, I can actually feel the crunch of their crust in my mouth, it’s insane. You should definitely check out their account to scope out what specials are running that Monday and then head over to their pop up location on North Cherry Street in Poughkeepsie.

Bonus: Melzingah Tap House, Beacon
While we’re a bit biased, we had to mention Melzingah Tap House. This Beacon restaurant and bar not only has the food people crave to capture, but their interior design also gets the same amount of attention. Their feed is made up of an expertly crafted mixture of User Generated Content (reposts) and stylized shots that showcase their food, beer, and keep us wanting to come back. Go and give them a follow to see all the drool-worthy content you can handle at this popular Beacon gathering place.
